Decide not to extend the date of the Income Tax Returns submission

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has announced not to extend the deadline for submission of income tax returns.

According to the FBR, no general extension will be given in the scheduled date for submission of returns. In case of severe compulsion, an individual extension of only 15 days will be possible which will be approved with terms.

The FBR has termed the news about the extension of the deadline for returning filing, saying that most taxpayers live in areas that have not been affected by the recent floods and have already been given enough time for returning filing.

The FBR made it clear that rumors of the slowing of the Iris system are also false and baseless. The portal is fully active and is running properly.

After the due date, those who do not file returns will be fined and they will be given a late filer status.

It should be noted that the deadline for submitting annual income statements has been fixed September 30.
